Cup Cakes

These beautiful cup cakes are ones that Lucy baked, iced and made the decorations for, she was so pleased with how they looked. They tasted delicious too.

Too make the butterflies sparkle Lucy sprayed them with silver shimmer spray, when dry it looked iridesiant.

Friend Birthday Card

I made this birthday card for a very good friend of mine. It is a variation of the Father's Day card I made this year.
The stamp set I used is from Stampin Up. I used DI to stamp the flower images. When I stamped the' f ' for friend I inked the stamp up with three colours of ink.
The foliage is made from a punch I have, the gold on it is one of those happy accidents, I picked up a piece of green card, punched then realised it was a bit I had embossed for somthing else. But it works well.
I decided to add an acetate window to the box part as it looked too heavy for the card, the werther sweets inside the box are just the right colour for the card.

Money Tree

This layout is made using a Paper Maze crop kit, I altered it to suit my pictures as the original used three smaller photos going down vertically.
I love the colours in the double sided papers, they just lift everything.
I also added hand written journaling to the L.O.
These photo's are of Lucy and Adam, they were taken at Aira Force in the Lake District. I love to walk up to see the waterfall, the kids all moan all the time but when we came across this fallen tree that had coins pushed into it they decided it wasn't so bad, we added our own coins to the tree but of course Adam and Lucy had to see if  they could get any of the money out....they couldn't though!!

Tortoise Card

I found this tortoise stamp at a craft show I went to, it is by Little Claire and I love it.
I made some, it will be 25, cards for my Mum to sell at the Tortoise Club. Because I was making a lot in one go I kept the design simple. The backing paper I used is some I bought locally, it matches perfectly with the pro markers I used to colour the image in.
I stamped the image using Memento Rich Cocoa ink then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
The edge of the card is inked using Brown Corduroy DI.
The gold the stamped image is matted on, lifted the design and made it all look brighter.

Tortoise Jewellery

Lucy and I have been busy making some jewellery for my Mum to sell. She is part of the Norfolk Tortoise Club and as well as helping people with their tortoises she also raises money for the club by selling tortoise related products.
Lucy made the phone charms whilst I made the bracelets and earrings. Some of these items were sold at the Spring Fling at the Norwich Show Ground, the Tortoise Club attends lots of shows and fetes so have a look on their website for more info, one of the next big shows they will be at is the Norfolk Show at the end of this month.
The Norfolk Tortoise Club does lots of good work for the welfare of tortoises, for example, many people assume that tortoises eat only lettuce and tomatoes but these foods are actually bad for tortoises in large quantatities, tortoises actually like and should eat many of the weeds found in our gardens, I know a tortoise who loves bindweed!!

Father's Day

I made these cards to use the spare 'Dads' I had cut from my cricut.
Again the paper is Echo Park, I matted it onto card blanks I already had but hadn't used because of the colour but they go perfectly with this paper.
Dad is attached using foam tape to make it stand out more.
To finish these cards I have added glossy accents to some of the sails,( that's bumpy bits to Mrs S)
the buttons did not look right on these cards so I left them off.

Fathers Day

I have made these card/boxes for Father's Day this year. They are great for holding a small gift or homemade sweets.
The paper I used is Echo Park with matching cardstock.
At the moment the box part is held together with ribbon, but once I put the gift inside I may use DS tape to hold it all toether.
Dad is cut on the cricut using the Beyond Birthday's cartridge, I then used foam tape to attach it to the card.
Inside I have put a cherished punch square to add my greeting to.
When I first made these I did not add the three little buttons, but now I have added them I think they help to finish the card part off.

Class card

This is the card we will be making at Tithe Barn this Saturday at the Craft Buddies Crop. We will be using various techniques, masking, stamping, embossing and inking.
The photo really does not do this card justice.
If you would like to do the class please let Karen know over at Craft Buddies.
See you on Saturday.
