Easter Picnic Basket.

When I first saw this picnic basket I just knew I had to make one, I even knew exactly where I had the paper and what embellishments I wanted to put on it!
I saw this made on a blog called egen-rantho.blogspot.com.
The flowers are cut from the Tim Holtz die mini garland tattered flowers. I have cut mine from felt and card stock. I did find though that some felt cut better than others, I used blue, green and pink but found the blue did not always cut all the way through. The only explanation I could come up for this is the different dye used, but I'm just guessing.
I curved the card flowers for added defination then held them altogether with a brad and glue.I have gone round the leaves with stardust stickles and also added some to the brads.
At the moment I'm not quite sure what to put in the picnic basket, homemade chocolates, cookies or something else, but I do know who I am giving the basket to, I cannot say as they may check out my blog!!

21st birhday card.

I have decided to try and keep ahead of birthdays coming up ths year, I've made some cards to keep in my birthday book ready but knowing me when the time comes to write in them I will not be able to find the book.
I made this 21st birthday card using my cricut, swirls embossing folder and Martha Stewart punch.
I decided to make the card easel style because the 21 was lost on a normal card.

The 21 and butterflies have stickles stardust glitter on but it has not come out in the photo

Mouse Card

I bought the stamp for this card at a craft fayre many years ago when I first started stamping. I thought then and do now that it looked so delicate. I made this card when I was playing with my promarkers, I am really pleased with how it looks.
I decoupaged the mouse that is looking up and the head of the mouse that is peeking over the teacup.
The gingham edge is vellum which I also used when I punched the scalloped oval. The sentiment 'best wishes' is from stampin up. To finish the card I added the blue ric-rac and put glossy accents on the leaves and flowers around the teacup.

Gift Card Holder

This gift card holder is an idea that has been made several times, this is my take on it. I wanted something other than a boring envelope to put the gift card in.
It is a lovely way to make a simple gift card look like a well thought out present, the design can be made to suit all occasions.
I made this from a 12"x4" piece of card stock which is  folded to make a 'M' shape, the middle part of the M is glued round the edges, a notch is then cut out so the gift card can then slide in.
The card stock is then decorated to match the occasion.

Mothers Day Box and Card

I have made this card and box for my Mum, so I hope she likes them.
I got the inspiration whilst shopping in Sainsbury's, Lucy and I found some mini cupcake chocolates, I knew as soon as I saw them how I wanted to present them in a box.
I have used the vintage vogue stamp set from Stampin up, bazzill bling card, dotted swiss bazzill, distress inks victorian velvet and antique linen, a Martha Stewart punch, pearl brads and ribbon that I have lots of.
I covered a card base with my cardstock, punched out the foliage then stamped the flowers using the DI's onto white card. When they were dry I cut round them leaving a thin white strip all round, next I scrunched them up to break down the paper fibres.
I layered a small and big flower held together by the pearl brad. On the back of the flower  I glued a small circle then glued the leaves to that. When I put the card together I decided I also wanted to add the leaves from the stamp set, to me they finishes the card off.
I made the box by working out how high it needed to be to hold the cupcake chocs, I then made the lid to fit over the base. For the inside of the box I made a platform then punched three holes to hold the cupcakes snugly.
The cupcakes came in a pack of nine, Lucy has said I am only allowed to make one more box as she wants to try the chocolate.

Gift Card

I am hoping my mother-in-law will like this when I give it to her on Mother's Day this year, she loves candles.
This is a card and gift box all in one, I have made the box part big enough to hold four tea-lights, but it could be made to hold individual chocolates
The flowers are from A die I bought from http://www.craftbuddiespapercrafts.co.uk/ which I edged with glitter, as well as the leaves. The butterfly is a sizzix die also edged with glitter and gems to form the body.
I made compartments to keep the tea-lights in place. The ribbon is some velvet ribbon I found in my box, the colours were just right for this project.
I saw these cards whilst looking for something else on google, I have kept the idea in the back of my mind ready for Mother's Day.

Little black bag.

I am so sorry I have not updated my blog for so long, I have no real excuse, only that my computer is still playing up and to get it to do anything takes for ever.

This is a gorgous gift bag that I made for my son's girlfriend to hold her birthday gifts. I first saw the design in a book, so I read how it was made, a bit like browsing the magazines before you choose which one to buy,  then made my own when I got home.
The bag is made from bazzill black card
The flowers are fabric ones I found in my cupboard but I now wish I had made the flowers.

To finish the bag I added silver stitching for the flower stems and around the handles.
