Origami Star Box

 I went to the Sea Palling crop at the begining of the month, I haven't been for ages, while we were all there a very talented lady, Jackie, showed us how to make these star boxes.

I came home and made these Easter ones.

The large box is made from  12" x 12" double sided paper and the smaller one is from 8" x 8" double sided paper. The opening of the larger box is 3" square, the opening og the smaller box ix 2" square, just to give you an idea of the size of the boxes.

 We all felt that the lid made the boxes, I have used ribbon for the handle but beads or card would work just as well.

Another Berry Basket

Here is another berry basket I have made for Easter this year.

I just love these chocolate carrots and Lucy loves the bunnies, both from Lindt.

Again I have stamped the craft card with brown distress ink and stampin ups hardwood stamp, I am using the stamp for so many things!!!

I made an insert for the basket with six holes punched in it so the carrots stand upright this then leaves room for three bunnies to line up in the middle

I am so pleased I can still buy the carrots, they took long enough to come out in the shops.

 This is last years carrot box.

Carrot Holder

 

For a long time now I have seen on various blogs these carrots by Lindt but I have not seen them in the shops where I live until this year, well I do live out in the sticks!!! And now the carrots are everywhere.

 There are instructions on how to make this holder on splitcoaststampers, but I made my own, mainly because I do not have some of the equipment needed on those instructions.

I started with the middle section which holds the carrots, I hand cut six circles for the carrots to sit in, as you can see in the picture below. Then I folded the sides down to make an upside down box with holes in.

I then built up around this, a small base in dark brown with a kraft card layer then a grass layer.



 The fence is made with coordinations card with a brown core which I inked and sanded

I had to put the bunny on as I accidently glued a red bit of card to the box while cooking tea. His ears and head are made from a circle punch, I hand cut his body and inked round it to hide the wobbly bits, his tail is from a mini flower punch which is also inked.



Easter Basket

When I started to make this basket in my mind I had an image of a strawberry punnet.

I sat at my workspace with white card and this is what evolved.

I stared by making a box base, as in Sue's box, but bigger and deeper,  before I glued it together I used a punch to put bars in the basket, this way the basket is still strong but easy to work with.

I glued the sides at an angle so it is slightly 'V' shaped. I added DI to each bar to add definition.

I made the handle by punching a strip of 1" card on both sides and inked that as well.

Once the handle was in place I decided to add the brown trim top and bottom, this made the basket more alive somehow.

The flowers are a mix of card and felt also inked, I chose the colours to go with the chocolate eggs I had. As you can see the middle of the flower is a button.

I am really pleased with this basket even though it is not quite a strawberry punnet!!!

Easter Picnic Basket.

When I first saw this picnic basket I just knew I had to make one, I even knew exactly where I had the paper and what embellishments I wanted to put on it!

I saw this made on a blog called egen-rantho.blogspot.com.

The flowers are cut from the Tim Holtz die mini garland tattered flowers. I have cut mine from felt and card stock. I did find though that some felt cut better than others, I used blue, green and pink but found the blue did not always cut all the way through. The only explanation I could come up for this is the different dye used, but I'm just guessing.

I curved the card flowers for added defination then held them altogether with a brad and glue.I have gone round the leaves with stardust stickles and also added some to the brads.

At the moment I'm not quite sure what to put in the picnic basket, homemade chocolates, cookies or something else, but I do know who I am giving the basket to, I cannot say as they may check out my blog!!

Easter Baskets

Here are two last minute baskets I made as Easter gifts. I think they are really cute. The flowers are cut from dies, one is a Tim Holtz die and the other is a normal sizzix die.

Lucy loves the ducks and did not want to give them away.
